After attending the event Is Islam Being Criminalised? on Saturday, Dilly Hussain writes that it may take more events like this and most importantly a consistent strategy to counter the attacks against Islam in Britain.
More than people packed out Eastern Pearl Banqueting Hall in Manchester with over viewers watching the event online.
It was a positive start to in the sense that prominent figures of Muslim organisations with sizeable followings came together to discuss the issue of whether Islam is being criminalised by the government and mainstream media.
There was a similar event held at the Waterlily, London, last November organised by Engage which brought together the heads of iERA, Hizb ut-Tahrir, FOSIS, MRDF, MDI, Ebrahim College among other notable leaders within the Muslim community to discuss whether Muslims were excluded from free speech.

Abdullah al Andalusi is an international speaker, thinker and intellectual activist for Islam and Muslim affairs. His work involves explaining and demonstrating, by rational argument, the intellectual proofs for the Islamic belief system, and promoting the Islamic way of life and Islamic solutions for contemporary problems. For the intelligent, an indication is sufficient. Subhanallah, this tale, taken from one of the finest works in Arabic literature, is filled with so many lessons for everyone. Please read it with the intention to learn the lessons from the life of one Shaikh Abu Abdullah Al-Andalusi (may Allah be pleased with him), and also the character of his devoted and loyal students. I pray that Allah grants every reader the tawfeeq (Divinely granted success) to benefit from this and to protect us all from any tests of this sort. Ameen.
