‘Super Singer Junior 3’ was a kids singing talent hunt that aired on Vijay TV. The program was sponsored by the Mobile Network Company Bharti Airtel. Only children within the age group of were allowed to participate in the contest. The program was premiered on 17th October The winner was honored with a 3-bedroom townhouse worth Rs lakhs from it’s season 3 sponsors, Arun Excello Homes Private Ltd. Actress Kalyani and Ramya were anchors of the audition round. The judges who selected the participants from the auditions include prominent playbacks singers and vocalists namely S. P. Sailaja, Manikka Vinayagam, Pushpavanam Kuppuswamy, S. Sowmya, and Mahathi and Nithyasree Mahadevan. The auditions for the Season -3 rounds were held in cities like Chennai, Trichy, and Coimbatore. The hosts of the competition round include Makapa Anand, Kalyani and Bhavana.

Pragathi Guruprasad was born to Kanaka and Guruprasad. She took her initial Carnatic music lessons from her father, at the tender age of five. Both her parents are fond of Carnatic music. She along with her parents relocated to the United States, where she continued her training in the Hindustani style of classical music and Carnatic music. In addition to singing, she also learned to play The Veena. She got trained in Carnatic music under Sangeetha Swaminathan. Apart from Singing, she loves playing Table Tennis. She also learned the Sanskrit language so that can dictate Hindi and all North Indian languages with ease.
