Resistance doesn't come easy.

Status quo is, by definition, stability. Why disturb it?

Even when things are bad, they can get worse. Why tempt fate?

The most difficult resistance is one with no chance for success. When one knows they will fail, but one still fights.

One fights, because the status quo is no longer palatable. Because stability is just an illusion. Because one has to stand up for their people.

Because fascism should never be tolerated.

In , the Jews of Warsaw's ghetto resisted. For a month, they fought off the Nazis with little-to-no hope of victory. At the end, 20, Jews were dead, and another 36, were deported to concentration camps. Among the dead was Mordechai Anielewicz, who, as the head of the Jewish Fighting Organization, led the uprising. He was just 24 years old.

Mordechai Anielewicz

Mordechai Anielewicz was born to a poor family in Wyszkow, Poland, a small town near Warsaw with a population that was approximately 1/2 Jewish. As a young man he became a member of Hashomer Hatzair, a Zionist youth group, and quickly emerged as a natural leader and organizer.

In Warsaw, he, along with his girlfriend Mira Fuchrer, carried on with political and educational activies and was soon involved in various anti-fascist organizations and Jewish self-defense groups.
