Yamaha Motors Philippines held their Champions Rising: Racing Beyond Limits event to introduce their racing teams for the upcoming season. Held at the Yamaha headquarters in Manila, the function gave fans and media a first look at Yamahas elite circuit and off-road riders.
Leading Yamahas circuit racing charge is McKinley The Wonderboy Kyle Paz. After three seasons honing his craft in European junior grand prix, Paz has returned to Asia. He will represent the Yamaha Tekhne ASEAN Team in the premier SuperSport class of the Asia Road Racing Championship. Joining Paz under the UMA MMR Yamaha Philippine Racing Team banner are April Rocketboy King Mascardo and Gian Carlo The Flash Mauricio. Mascardo and Mauricio will be seeking redemption in the Underbone category after podium finishes in past seasons.

Bornok Mangosong stamps class in centerpiece event of Diamond Motor Supercross
THERE was no stopping Bornok Mangosong from dominating the Diamond Motor Supercross that ended over the weekend at the Mx Messiah Fairgrounds.
Mangosong, representing Yamaha Motor Philippines, finished the fifth and final leg with a big gap over contenders JC Rellosa, Jerick Mitra, and Buboy Antonio.
He completed the five-leg series with three wins and a total of overall points to win the premier Pro Open division.
Rellosa finished second with a total of points, while Mitra came in third with 97 points.
“Unang-una, magpapasalamat ako sa Diyos for keeping us safe. Our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, talagang binless niya tayo ng napakagandang series,” said Mangosong, who graced the weekly Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum at the Golden Phoenix Hotel Tuesday along with the other champions of the different categories.
“Hopefully, marami pa tayong races (in the future).”
Mangosong received a total of P94, for the victory and a GoPro Hero 5 Session for being the GoPro Holeshot Awardee with four out of five holeshots throughout the series.

Glenn Aguilar, Bornok Mangosong renew rivalry as Diamond Supercross set for return
ALL eyes will be on veteran Glenn Aguilar and young daredevil Bornok Mangosong when the Diamond Motor Corporation Supercross returns on March 4 at the MX Messiah Fairgrounds in Taytay, Rizal.
The year-old Aguilar, still regarded as the country’s top rider, renews his rivalry with the year-old Mangosong of Davao when the opening leg of the highly-awaited supercross series kicks off this weekend.
But Sam Tamayo of Generation Congregation and the organizing Xtreme Adrenaline Sports, said during Tuesdays Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum at the Golden Phoenix Hotel in Pasay City that other riders are out to give the two favorites a run for their money.
“The others are going to give them a tough fight. This supercross is not just about Glenn and Bornok,” sad Tamayo, a professional rider himself.
Four more legs are on tap on March 25, April 29, May 13 and May 27, according to Elgene Cruz, marketing manager of Xtreme Adrenaline Sports.

Personal History
I started riding motorbike ever since I was 3 years old. Yes, that early. It’s because my father was a motocross rider way back. I have 2 sisters and 2 brothers (1 deceased). We grew up in Asingan, Pangasinan Philippines hoping from one place to another to join races. From then on it became our weekend bonding after and before we go to our school. Motocross then became a part of my life until now, a way of my life with my family. Due to many life events I focused in motocross after I finished high School. Few years passed my brother died. He died at the age of 16 because of motocross. Our life at that stage was so low that it affects my racing career. I already had kids at my early age that’s why I continue to run races and win races the way I was.

I ride because it became our way of life. I join races nationally. Today we usually go to places by land for airlines won’t accept motorbike on board. I race through invitations and if we had ample of funds I join Series. My plan for next year is to join motocross series here in the Philippines.
