Teesha moore biography of rory

Teesha Moore was one of my earliest influences in my art journalling, and I still LOVE her work even though her style is very different to my own.  I'm a member of her Artstronauts Club, and have been watching videos of her putting pages together.  I'm always trying to challenge myself to work in different ways and try out new techniques, and this is the page that resulted from spending so much online time with Teesha!

The background is pretty much my usual - Caran D'Ache Neocolour II crayons, still my most favourite thing to use.  What was different for me was going to my stash of magazine cut outs and rather than looking for images or words, just looking at colour and patterns, and pulling out things I liked.  That was how I ended up with this corner piece, and the "tombstone" or possibly "teeth" fragments along the bottom!
I did like working in that way and will probably do it again, because it fitted with my sense of intuition, just going with the flow and see what turns up.  So then I pulled out more scraps I just happened to like and this was the result - not typical of my style but I liked it.  My only regret is that these shiny m

Artist Profile: Teesha Moore

Teesha Moore is a mixed-media artist, creating visual journals, and a true entrepreneur. She created Zettiology, a line of rubber stamps and collage sheets featuring her work. In she hosted the first Artfest as we know it today, in Port Townsend, Washington. From that success, she has also organized Fiberfest and Journalfest, now in its third year.

Q: What are you working on right now?
A: My latest journal, some big paintings, repainting my living room. Haven&#;t decided on a wall color yet. It&#;s been a mottled deep yellow on top and a mottled deep red on the bottom for 26 years, and it&#;s time to change. Been thinking about a light turquoise blue and a limey olive green&#;

Q: Why do you make art?
A: I have to. It&#;s in my blood&#;it is my life-force. It&#;s my connection to my inner being.

Q: What&#;s your current favorite, can&#;t-live-without-it material?
A: My Sharpie poster paint extra fine white pen.

Q: What is your least favorite technique that you still use anyway?
A: Glue. I hate it. It&#;s messy, but it&#;s a necessary evil sometimes.  Oh&#;that is a material&#;not a technique. Least favorite technique is bookbinding m

This past Friday, I received a complimentary copy of TeeshaMoore's Art and Life magazine where images of my journal pages took up nearly three pages. I am grateful to Teeshafor including my pages. I know that she has a lot of fans out there.

It's an interesting story (at least I think it is) of how she ended up publishing some of my pages. Back in the spring, I was searching the web for new and different opportunities for the Journal Fodder Junkies, and I have know about Teesha'sArtfestfor many years. I emailed her, told her a little about what Dave and I do, and asked about getting an application to be instructors for Artfest She emailed back saying that she was dropping the info in the mail and asked if I had a website. I steered her to the blog and to my personal Flickrpage, and she emailed asking if I would like to be published in her magazine. I sent her some images, and lo and behold, three glossy pages of my stuff. I know that the magazine has led at least one person to the blog and ultimately to the website, and I'm hoping that it will help get the word out about the Journal Fodder Junkies.

Thanks very much, Teesha.

Teesha Moore

Teesha Moore is a mixed-media artist, creating visual journal pages and collaged artworks. She is one of my favourite mixed media artists. I was first introduced to her work in year 10 Art GCSE and have been influenced and inspired by her since. She created &#;Zettiology&#;, a line of rubber stamps and collage sheets featuring her work. Art journaling is a form of self-expression using various mixed media techniques, such as collage, transfers and pen work.

Teesha’s work is eclectic and whimsical.  I love how her work consists of objects found around the house to create an entirely new piece of work. Her journal pages can often work as individual pieces and despite the fact that initially her pages seem very personal, in reality any one looking at her work can find meaning in her pages.

The colour schemes she choses to use are vibrant and bright.  However she uses a great deal of white in the final stages of her work to add emphasis and definition.  Examining her colour schemes always make me feel uplifted and re-inspired.  These colour schemes and design aspects can connect with fashion styling and in some ways graphic design  and help me to envisage new
